Hey guys. Latest update!

Had a call from the autoelectrics company today.. They said that the company who were supposed to be testing the Multifunction Control Unit didn't have the software to be able to test it. They also said that it is very rare for this part to fail!

The autoelectrics company have suggested I pick the car up and find another solution rather than them spending hours on trying to find the problem elsewhere.

I am back at square one and would welcome any suggestions on what to do/try next! Do I go to SEAT? :/

Thanks in advance

Yes, I think this will be my next step.. The ignition relay too.

Does any one know which ones these are, or have any diagrams they can link to?

Thanks

Damon

Does anyone have any diagrams or layouts for the relays? Specifically the ignition relay/main relays?

Thanks in advance

No surprises there then?

Hope they didn't sting you too much?

No, thank god. Pretty honest with me really. Hour fiddling and removing the MFU and another to put it back.

I in a sticky situation now, knowing whether to get it recovered to seat dealers or bring it home and trying and figure it out myself!?!

HI all, I now have to car at home so can check all the relays etc...

Could anyone let me know which ones I need to check/replace in order to test the relay theory?

ANy help would be welcome, also a reward for anyone who can fix the problem! haha!

OK.. first thing after getting the car back, battery was dead (thanks autoelectrics!). Once battery was charged we started the checking the relays under the steering wheel (mainly 460).

We checked the 460 relay with voltage tester and 12 volt mains, to see if was switching - it seemed fine.

However, the relay didnt seem to be switching when plugged in, so took the plastic top of the relay and tapped it with a screw driver while it was plugged in and BOOM, everything came to life! All working fine. So think ill be buying a new 460 relay off ebay!

Just the engine light and airbag light to worry about before MOT now.. :|

THanks for all the suggestions and help during this, much appreciated.
