HID Problem

Hi guys,

Fitted my HID's from diane shop after christmas, and ever since they have been on when you turn them on passenger one ignites for about 5-10 secs then just goes off. But if you put them off and on again then it stays on fine, no problems! Its a bit less bright though than the other one.

Was wondering does anyone have any ideas of what it could be, i know i can return the ballasts etc to hong kong but thats major hassle and would prefer to sort it out myself if possible!

Yeah mine has done this for the last 8 months

every time in hit a bump in the road my passenger side goes off (sometimes 10 times in the 20 minute drive to work). I have to turn off lights and turn them on again and it works fine...

I still need to send it back but haven't bothered yet

I know HID kits in general do this. Occasionally only one will be on. But if its happening that regular then i would say you do have a problem.

Regarding brightness, make sure they are both set at same height as can make one look alot brighter than the other etc if set incorrectly.

I just got a set and the passenger side is flickering. I tested it all and its definatly the ballast so sending it back. Thats all I can recommend mate

If not look around ebay for a single ballast but then thats another cost

I knew i would probably have to send it back, just the hassle now of taking it all out again! Did you just email diane shop and ask for the exchange?

I got mine from a different company but im sure its the same principles.

Email them > they tell you to swap them all about > you tell you done this > they tell you to send back the ballast > you send it back with a reference number > you get your new one sent out when they get the busted one > you spend another few hours fitting the new ballast hoping it works this time

Hey guys looks like we all have similar issues, i had a problem wid my hid's aswell one went of approximately 10 sec after switchin' it on and if i switch it of and on again it would do the same.
So, here's what i did, swapped the bulbs over and it was still doin the same on the same bulb which meant the ballast was fine and i also realised that the bulb has changed its colour in the centre like a greyish sort of, anyways
Ordered new bulb got it fixed and its all good, hope that helps
