HID vs Xenon

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the two - are they the same but with different names, or completely different technology ?

Thanks

Welll.

Depends on the context. Xenon bi/xenon is what you'll usually see in car brochures, because the HID systems use Xenon gas.

But for a while some halogen bulbs have been using xenon gas as well. Obviously, xenon or not, they're just halogens and not comparable to HIDs.

But it's fairly easy to tell the different. One will cost you 50 quid and up, one will cost you a tenner or so :)
