Yes they're fine... All aftermarket kits are designed to be plug and play on any car, just get the bulb fitment right.
Well I had to pull myself away from a brand new set of HIDs on Saturday. They were for sale at Castle Combe and it was the last box on the stall so the guy had knocked it down to... £30
The horror stories of burnt out looms put me off so I bought som Phillips Xtreme Bulbs for £25 which was a good price too, just as someone else grabbed the HIDs

Horror stories, i've never heard one, as for those 100w bulbs you get (not the ones you mentioned) i've heard a few!

I've never heard any and I've also had HIDs for 6+ months with no issues whatsoever.
You should have ripped his arm off for £30.
Just to put things straight. The HIDs would not be able to burn out any wiring as they draw much less current from the system than standard halogen bulbs do. It's the ballasts that up the voltage to the required level, around 20k, but the current is still far less than standard.

I've heard of people burning out looms from not having hid ballasts or something. Something to do with cheaper kits anyway, maybe I should have given it a shot but I didn't know enough about it at the time to hand over £30 to someone I wouldn't see again
not impressed with mine from Diane shop...
they tend to shake a lot when going over bumps and the nr side lamp stopped working a couple of weeks ago only to start again last weekend!
Have also noticed they dip down slightly and then go back to full power when turning highbeam on - planning to get a decent (more expesive set) from ebay to see if there's any difference...
Shame though as the low price is what made me decide to try them in the first place and now I'll be shelling out again!

My halogens shake quite bad, specially when using clutch control. This happened after I did the dog-bone mount upgrade. Suppose there is too much vibration through my car.
Got my HID's from Dianne-shop yesterday, shall be fitting them on Saturday or Sunday at the R.S Tuning RR day on Sunday (I can ask for advice if/when I balls it up)

I can see no diff in light or quality with these kits!
iv got the same kit i can get into the drivers side headlight but how did u get into the passenger side headlight did u take ur front bumper off to hide ur ballast iv bought same kit off diane's shop got it really quickly cant't wait to fit it got phillips blue vision for side, main beam and fogs as it would look a little odd with xenons and the yellowish lights did u just unscrew the two bolt and pull the headlight out
i think alot of these rumours/stories/stupidity is just from poor electronics experiance and knowlege.
Im willing to bet ything that guy above does not have a real bosch kit lol.
The bulbs bosch make are very very expensive and wont be sold in kits with an external ballast.
The lights will shake slightly more dude to the nature of the kit, These will not change with different kits
The lights will dim slightly when switching to full beams as the balllasts are very sensative to voltage. think your converitng 12-14v to a huge amount more, so the ratio when the input changes is alot higher at the other end.
To put it simply.
The only advantage with the expensive sets from HID direct etc. is that when they go wrong they will replace them easily. but so many buy with dianne your gonna have some horror stories as they are a pain in the arse to replace.
