tonight asked about condensation in headlights, only to find out that its the hid kits grommet thats loose on the headlight backing plate thats causing condensation , will need to silicon the 2 together to seal it, has anyone else had this problem

they get condensation without a grommet so wouldnt rely on that being the cause

just wondering if anyone else has had problems with headlights steaming up after installing their HID's. My LCR headlamps were replaced by the dealer when I bought the car and I fitted HID's about a month after. I noticed tonight (probably down to the colder weather) that the inside had started to steam up. I'm wondering that because the HID grommet is not tight on, if its letting moisture in.

I havent noticed it on mine but I think uncle festers hit the nail on the head.

The HID's don't operate as hot and so don't clear the condensation as quick if at all.

It might be worth putting silicon on the grommets to make sure they are sealed though

I have this also as soon as i fitted my HID'S.Make sure it is dry in there, the covers are on properly and seal up around the grommet if needs be, i did and it made a difference.
