high peak = dead rods ?

Yea you can smooth the spike to a more reasonable amount of torque. I think this thread was more to do with the issue of the original poster running too much boost therefore having a big torque spike mapped in (300+) putting too much stress on the rods, if you keep the torque below that you shouldnt have a problem, which hopefully Bill will confirm.. :)

The thing is my spike really isnt that much of a spike really. Normally it boosts to 26-ish and then drops steadily towards the redline. 15-ish psi at redline. On my previous map it would spike to 24psi, drop immediately to 20 for a second then drop to 14psi at redline. Obviously I prefer the new map.

After reading around on this forum i am confused about how much torque the BAM engine is safely good for, i have read a few readers rides that are running 320+lb/ft on standard internals!!! and even one guy, (CupraMVR) running a massive 370lb/ft, graphs to prove it. I am starting to think i would get about with 310lb/ft and be safe enough.

370ft/lbs on a stock BAM motor? For how long has he driven like that?
