I have just taken my car today to have an assement of damage for the insurance and the girl on reception was asking me alsorts, and if she can pass on my details to a claim company(wheres there is blame there a claim i guess).

So if this guy goes to have his repaired you will still have a claim against you and lose your No claims and will prob try to get some compo.

Try talking to your insurer ans ask for advise, before repairing your car yourself.

Its virtually impossible to get a 100% match on paint work, so i have asked both times for a new bumper, (they come pre painted)

BE WARE and ask the insurance co first

Hi Mate,

Be careful, i had a small bump sounds like something similar to yours, but i damaged the headlights.

When you looked at the car it didnt look to bad, but when it got repaired they replaced bumper 2x headlight, badges and bumper carrier. Total Cost £1700!!!

But the repair is top job you cant tell anything happened.

And today someone ran into the back of me in traffic so will be doing the rear the same.
Bumper only looks scratched, but been told new bumper carrier, number plate lights, so will prob be over a grand again.

Get it checked out , you wont believe what they find.

The guy who had had accident with said it wasnt his fault but just left the insurance to argue about it, got a letter saying all sorted and no excess or loss of ncb.

Got 34K on now, had 16K when i bought it.

Had a company car for 14 yrs no accidents now got my own 2 accidents in 8 mths, DOH
