Apologies in advance for this post as im sure its been covered many times, but im looking for a definitive answer from you Cupra nuts

Ive been through the D.I.Y Boost leak tester and ordered a Tyre Valve(bolt on)
A psi Pressure Gauge
some Ptfe tape and 2 part epoxy resin

But the crutial part is the Pipe that its fixed into
Now the geezer who did the thread build and video thread states he used 63mm/2" Outside diameter pipe with end cap to suit, now this caused confussion and he ended up using a conversion chart from google

However to use this item on the Maf end(Intake) ive read the pipe needs to be 2.75 inch diameter pipe(2 and three quarter inches imperial)

If anybody has bulit one for a Cupra and used it in the very place im suggesting then please get in touch as i dont want to buy the wrong bits

No neg comments please its a forum of helping Cupra brothers(Lee 69 is in that club)

Do you think you have a leak pre-turbo? If so, its not really a 'boost' leak as such...

Why do you want to pressurize it all may i ask?

The reason to pressurize post turbo, is so you dont damage any oil seals in the turbo IIRC, also, there is no pressure on the intake of the cold side.

Just measure your MAF housing OD and use that as the OD of the pipe you buy...

Leon MAF apart from LCR is 70mm
As said above the inlet side of the turbo is under vacuum, this is many used for the pipework after the turbo

Thanx for this,im getting the usual hissing sound under part throttle and hardly any boost(sounds like dump valve is opening early,if that makes sense

ive yet to trace the problem and its making me not want to drive the car,i understand there are quite a few possibilites,Im still learning slowly with the aid of the forum

Im going to make one so i can keep it for future use,ive enquired about a smoke test but having no joy with my regular garage

ive been looking around the net and im sure the Maf intake is 2.75 inch internal diameter

a Vac leak would cause the same symptoms...Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question:confused:
