Depending on which side of Peterborough you are.... Jabba are obviously Jabba, therefore v. good. But, the other company are AMD associates and are very competant; They are who i use and i cannot fault them.

My Pug 406 HDi 90 (just my "London" car - don't worry!!) just threw its cambelt off and that belt was renewed in August. Unfortunately the dealer didn't replace the tensioner and its that part that has now failed. These things happen at the worst times too - ie I was late trying to get home on a promise with 15 miles to go, middle of nowhere and not sure of the road name or number, it was the Saturday before x-mas (ie skint) and it was raining. The AA arrived within the hour but then I had to be towed back to town (approx 5 miles the wrong way) and the Mrs had to come out and get me in a 40 mile round journey!

The damage was only to the rockers and tappets (very lucky) and with my mate only charging £150 the parts have mounted up to £360 so far (tensioner, belt, bottom pulley, rockers, tappets, head gasket, rocker gasket, oil seal).

My point ? Pay the £500 as you never know when it'll go and with my Pug only suffering very minor damage and costing the same at "mates rates" but being off the road now for 2 weeks and due for another week away (Pug parts being slow), and all the grief on the day and nagging etc it aint worth it!
