Well I drove to the dealer with the 06 GTi 200 and drove away in a 08 Cupra.
The cupra is amazing. It's so stylish and it handles and sounds better than the Golf. It feels like a sports car inside with the dark headlining and tinted windows. The xenon lights are amazing and the little dance they do when switched on just cracks me up... The Cupra is more of a head turner than the Golf and I wish I'd had one earlier.
I was amazed how smooth and refined the car is, especially as it handles like a go-kart. On a steady drive if feels comfortable and quiet but when it gets opened up (already touched 5000rpm a couple of times... tut tut) it feels like a sports car... exactly what I want from a car.
So, I love the looks, feel, price, performance and sound of the Cupra.
I have noticed a few minor things which I find a bit odd after the Golf:
1) No gas lift on the bonnet
2) No dash light when the cruise is switched on
3) Only 1 plip key
4) No hooks (really useful) or nets in the boot
5) No drivers grab handle
6) No auto lights/wipers (option on the Seat)
7) No ambience lighting (the red LEDs in the interior light cluster)
But, I love the folding mirrors and the auto locking. Overall the Cupra is by far the better car. If you're thinking of a GTi or a Cupra... get the Cupra and go on holiday with the money you save!
Well chuffed! (except the dodgy reg: FN08!)
