How do you... change the alternator pulley?

I've confirmed that the squeaking issues that I have at the moment are down to the alternator pulley. It appears that the centre is spinning independently of the outer so I bought a new one. Problem is that it appears that the pulley needs a splined tool and the alternator needs an 8mm (ish) allen key. Is there a special tool? What's it called? And where do I get one from?

Cheers guys

Yeah, didn't really occur to me that there are alternator specific places TBH, but now you say it... :) Will see what I can find near work tomorrow. Cheers

When I done mine, i removed the alternater, smashed the outer off the pulley so I was just left with the centre and used mole grips and an 8mm allen key to remove it.

Then had to buy the right tool to fit the new one

I know mate, but since the alternator light was flashing at me on the way to work today I couldn't really afford to wait. It's done now, and that's what matters. Annoyingly though I'm now considering selling the car :(
