Hi all, please put me out of my misery….I’ve searched for advice but can’t see anything.

How the flip do you fit the aluminium accelerator pedal cover?!

I’ve tried warming it in water to soften the rubber

I’ve tried prying tools but can’t fit them in the pedal well.

I’ve tried pushing

I’ve tried pulling the rubber over but can’t fit my fingers in.

started at the top AND the bottom.
What’s the knack?!

Found this old thread which might help.

Also, there are a number of videos on YouTube where OEM VAG aluminium sports pedal covers are being fitted to replace the original rubber ones. If you do a search in YouTube on ‘fitting oem aluminium pedal covers mk3 seat leon’ or similar search you should find them. The videos may be showing how to fit the pedal covers in a Golf or Audi A3 but the process will be the same.

Thanks. I’ll have a good read through. I saw a few vids on YouTube and they just say the accelerator is a bigger but don’t actually show how they manage!
Appreciate the help!!

It’s a proper pain to put on, but it will go on. I wetted it first and slot one side over the pedal and push like hell on the other side

It’s one thing I hadn’t tried - wetting

did you soap it as well?

I’ve given up for today but will resume battle tomorrow 😂

obviously I get it hs to clip on to be safe but it’s so frustrating 😂

thanks for the advice.

I didn’t use soap, water was enough. It really is a tight fit. Looks the part when it’s fitted, just requires a few snapped fingers and some choice words to get it on 😂

I was trying to refrain from swearing as was on the driveway, but it does usually help 😂😂

I’ve got the full set but don’t want to do the easy ones until the accelerator is on.

Did you do the dead pedal? Was that ok?

Yeah did that too, easy enough. One screw in the side and it tucks under the plastic trim at the side of the foot rest. Accelerator pedal is the hardest part, once that’s done the other pedals and foot rest is easy. Looks smart when it’s done too, worthwhile mod to do in my opinion

On a side note, I fitted this footplate to my Cupra. No faff. Just stick it down and away you go. Might be a nice touch once you’ve fitted your covers. Adds about 10bhp too 😉

I could be wrong, but it might have been difficult because it might be on upside down. I put mine on like this. Have a look and see what you think. Had a quick check on the forums and from what I can see most have there’s put on the same way.

Hello,
After some advice please, I have a 2016 Seat Leon FR estate
These pedals looks so much better.

Could I check:
> Which ones did you buy please, do you have a link?
> How do you fit the brake and clutch pedals, do you remove the plastic ones?
> Does the new accelerator pedal just slide onto existing?
I found these on ebay, would these be suitable?

They looks like the ones I bought, they should fit fine. Yes, brake and clutch you removed the original covers and replace with those the new ones. Yes, accelerator pedal slides on to existing.
