in my missus golf gti you can really hear it working, in the LCR nothing.

would there be any difference in the way it drives??

Poor boost, stuttering, surging, turbo stalling, unresponsive.... there are a few symptoms of a faulty DV.

My advice, would be change it anyway, even if it's OK. They are a known weak point and if it's not failed already, it will do at some point. Best to change it now before it fails to save the hassle.

Rob - can the Forge cause some of those symptoms also ?. I'm getting a lot of surging at mo and it reminds me of when i fitted a forge dv to my old astra coupe.

thanks rob. it feels like its not holding but serching more it sounds like bypassing the n249 would help.

dont get me wrong the boost isnt dropping off but it doesnt feel strong.

The forge item is pretty much bullet proof, shouldn't get these symptoms from the forge, poss look at other areas of failure not the forge DV!

Hmm, this might explain why my car dropped 40bhp since the last Rolling Road session I attended (Both run on the same rollers). I get a bit of hesitation these days too...
