How do you remove the mirror covers?

How do you get the mirror covers off a Mk3 Ibiza? I want to paint some but can't get the things off

IIRC from my Mk3 days, you fold the mirror in then get your fingers onto the edge now pointing to the front of the car and yank (Yes Yank) think there just clipped on.

erm yhe i think that might be it, but i took apart the full mirror to get mine off

Will have to look for screws, I couldn't see any when the mirror was appart though
