i recently bought one second hand
found today that there's a hole in it near the MAF end.first thought that came to mind was to insert it into the previous owner as a thank you .
would putting a small nyloc nut and bolt through help seal it?
any idea as to where its been rubbing so much that its worn a hole through 5 ply silicone hose?
had this mad idea of bathroom sealant, but the idea of that going into the inlet fills me with dread.

yeah, you'll want jubilee's all round (I must have robbed them for future use)

No silicon tip guide, so it would be cool with puics for the main site

You would be able to fix that hole with silicone sealant. The type for windows.

its needed mate.see the image above, there's a hose to fill the hole.personally i wouldn't want to risk silicone sealant going into my turbo.
