craig mate he could have but the point is for us older members we answer these questions litrally every week. It gets a bit repetitive by informing him of the search function Im sure he will use it more when it comes to other advice. If he really gets stuck or cant get it to work then at least hes tryed helping himself first.

The fact you say it might helpsome else just emphasizes the searching as we have helped people so that otehr people can get help as well.

my point being, that the question asked doesnt actually crop up that often - I would think that most people on here get their cars serviced by pro's / dealers, who reset the counters when the car is being serviced. But there will be some people who are doing their own services , so this question will probably be asked much more often now that these cars are getting a bit older! (out of warranty, older cars etc) maybe it should be made a sticky. btw i have no idea how to do it myself

I had to reset the oil service caption last night.

Ignition off
Push and hold reset button
Ignition on whilst holding the button
"---" should appear and it should be reset
