this will give you a little insight into how bad things really are , my car went in for jerking over 2,000 rpm last week no faults are logged except a can bus communication error and rear door commuication error.

long story short no engine fault code nothing to fix !
so i asked the question , you scanned my car for faults? yes but no engine codes were there

so i asked about the communication errors , that will have to be booked in seperatly ,
if i hadnt mentioned them the garage would not have said a thing , thats their attitude shocking and criminal , most of the public dont have vcds and maybe hav faults they are not aware of.

i did get a free health check on my car , cheeky *******s.

I can believe it. The chief tecchie down here told me i was making up the fact there was a rattle on mine. Turns out, after i looked for it, it was the heatshield underneath fouling the exhaust.

The best one i've had so far was when it went in to have the engine cover mount replaced. i went to pick it up and he told me (after having it for the whole day, and me call in 2 weeks previous to tell him exactly what it was) that they found the problem and will now order the part needed. This already got my back up as it was yet another trip i'd have to make unnecessarily. He then say's to me (bearing in mind this is THE head tecchie) dont worry we left the engine cover in the boot to stop it rattling!!

I said to him "and you have driven my car around without it?"

Him - "Well, yes, why?"

Me - "Because the engine cover houses the air filter, if you have removed it, you have therefore been running my car with the turbo inlet exposed, and it'll now have fault codes as it needs a reading from the airflow meter. Either way my car is now likely to be shagged as something may have been allowed to enter the turbo"

Him - "Oh.......erm......... ah, well in that case, it'll still be on there then!!

This guy is the CHIEF!!!?????

man some of these problems are shocking however the repair costs are irrelevant, it dont cost Seat that money, the Prices dealers give you are the RRP inc full labour which they don't get, i work in the bike industry and its the same thing, take a new cam chain tensioner change , the RRP is say £90 with trade price of £70 + vat, Seat will pay £10 at the most for the part, so the dealer is supplied the part charged full trade then credited full trade for the warranty claim, next the labor, they will have an agreed amount that they are told they will be paid, seat will allocate a set time to do the job, this will be very optimistic like 30 minutes at the warranty rate of £20 ph so they will get £10 fitting.

its a complete screw thad this is why dealers never want to do warranty work, we get it with a well known British bike manufacture, the parts RRP is insanely inflated then they tell you it can be changes in a 3rd of the actual time it takes, then they pay you a reduced rate, they tell you its great as you a franchise and get all the lovely warranty work but the fact is your loosing money on every job as its taking up time a fully paid job could have used.

Mine had a new battery (old one died within 6 months), New steering device (made "clunk noises) and they made my hood leakage free (about 8 hours works for Seat Holland). guess they spent about 1500 pounds on it.
