Hi guys as you all know my cars been an absolute slag , so while it was in for its service today i asked them to print off all the work that had been done on my car under warranty , i have 2 other garages to visit to get the total cost but this will give you some idea of just how badly my car was made , the following cost does not include any service costs just warranty claims.

so the grand total from dealer number 1 is ................................. £6303.60

i will post up the totals from the other 2 dealers as i get them , but im shocked , i think im well over 10k total , if this was an insurance claim im sure they would have written the car off , and btw that does not include VAT !

Not much, only a valve in the aircon and a regas.

RX8 probably cost the dealer a bit more as that needed a brand new cat after a few thousand miles :D

I really feel sorry for you Rob. It seems you are by far the unluckiest out of us all. Are you going for the Megane like you spoke about before?

Mine came nowhere near yours warranty work wise, but it did have quite a few things done.

Warranty work

I have to say so far mine hasn't been to bad, needed a new ABS pump and a new cd player. . Hope thats it as the warranty has now expired.

Apart from that I've been very happy with it. :)

That is shocking - that's the kind of thing you should write to Seat about and complain as that just shows poor quality standards....

Even now it seems you still just get that odd car where everything seems to go wrong! I'm sure we've all had them???

Someone i know even had a Civic Type-R like this, despite everyone raving about Honda reliability and build quality he had stupd problems with his, it turned into a constant never ending battle to get it right but he ended up selling it and vowing never to buy another one - I think there should be some form of cut off when a car has had to have over 50% of it's value spent on warranty claims within a year that they just agree it's not right and take it back.

Well Rob, your Cupra is the right colour as it's definately a lemon!

My TFSI Sport is over 4 years old now and I've had it from new; hopefully I'm not tempting fate, but so far nothing has gone wrong.

I had one major problem with mine where my tdi fr just went dead. Ended up having a new fuel injector replaced. Took about a week for them to get to know what the problem is and replace. Since then running fine (touchwood). They tryed to tell me I put petrol in instrad of diesel then I had contaminated diesel but I had none of it. After it was all fixed the diesel they said was contaminated was still in there.

Also had a exhaust pressure sensor replaced outside of warranty.

I reckon that's prolly along the same lines as mine to be honest if considering what labour charges would have been- had shed loads of stuff done (not being picky either). i'll have a proper look later!!

I remember a story my Veh Design Tech teacher told us at school (some 20 odd years ago) about a rolls royce that was having lots of problems, in the the end they rolled it into the factory and swapped out the whole engine. Common sense prevails sometimes.
