How Much Oil Do You Use/ How Often Do You Top Up?

mine used to make it to the next service without topping up with the oil starting at the top of the dipstick and being at the bottom by service time. It started using a bit more oil after 100 000 miles and this is when the camshaft and hydraulic lifters started to go.
Had them replaced and started using castrol edge 5w 30 instead of the titan 5w 40, to early to tell if it still uses oil as it was only changed 1000 miles / 2 weeks ago

this worries me a little.
i am not 100% certain but i think i have used the whole dipstick (from max to the light) in around 4-6 months...
should i be worried?

just check mine again, and i've used the dipstick up from max to min in two months?!

I mostly do short journeys with the odd long stint.... and my exhaust tips dont get dirty that quick... and i've never seen any puffs of smoke on boost.
The turbo is boosting at 20ish PSI aswel...
should i be worried?? i know Andy_Lang uses a bit of oil, and his car is healthy.

just checked oil today, was about 1/4 left between min and max :-(
changed oil 13 sept and covered about 3500 miles since.
I'm pretty certain I got a leaking rocker gasket or the more common half moon gasket as I got a little engine oil running down the block on the gearbox, question is if anyone knows, does that sound about the right amount of oil to be losing on just the rocker gaskets?
