Hey!

What's the power of your car? What mods have you done and how much have they cost?
Please let me know power and torque :)

Probably an odd question but I'm missing having a weekend car and really having two lots of insurance tax and mot to worry about is the reason I sold up but now I'm missing the speeeeed!
I bought the fr for fuel consumption I do 180 miles a day but I'm thinking of maybe getting it mapped n having some work done with a switch device to choose "sensible" mode for my commute. So I'm considering whether this will be cheaper in the long run than having two cars again :) thanks for any answers!!

Iv got a revo map on my car with switchable sps switch to put back to standard mode. Apparently got 170+Bhp and 280lb/ft of torque. Would highly recommend a revo map, had it on for about 15000 miles now with no issues. I wouldn't worry about having a switchable map, iv never put mine back to normal, and mpg is the same :) do it!!!!

My performance mods are Cupra intake, green filter and Revo map. Havent noticed a difference in mpg really since I got the map but with the torque it does pull really, suprises a few cars :)

Same as Micky above, its claimed 170bhp and 280lb/ft. Would like a bit more power and torque now Im used to it but afraid my clutch mightn't like it so much

As above, around 170-175bhp and 280-290lb/ft torque. I average around 55mpg on the drive to work and this is town and country lane driving. The best I've had is 67mpg at 60mph :D

See this is what concerns me, I get 70-75mpg daily. I've never been so geeky over mpg before lol, but since starting my new commute I've had to watch the pennies. If I get the map 60-65mpg wouldn't be a very happy result for me...

Has anyone managed to pull much more power than the standard re maps mentioned above?
I agree clutch and also boost pipes would have to be looked at, managed to blow a boost pipe standard so a remap would probably really upset it lol :)

Thanks everyone for the replies!! :)

I could probably get more but those are tank to tank calculations not using the OBC!

I also know my rear brakes are binding (common fault) just need the time to sort it :(

320lb/ft stage 1? I doubt it, the clutch is only good for 300lb/ft that's why revo settled at 280

Mind u he does say back in 2008, might of been done before revo limited their stage 1s?
I have heard the clutch can be dodgy with increased torque...isn't first also limited or something I've heard to stop gbox problems?

I think tbh looking at figures it'll be a weekend toy on the cards, keep my little red as she is :)
Thanks so much for all the feedback peeps :)

Ive seen your plate somewhere recently.

My old one was decent enough pace wise, may aswell de-cat it (smoke test not emissions last time i had one), panel filter and get it mapped for decent power, i still used to get 60 on a easy cruise.

Clutch and fly wont last with high torque levels, I would stay around 300ft lb, mine was on its way out hence why i got rid.

I proably advice a PD160 intake if you can get it cheap and and intercooler helps alot, mine used to boost cut after a spirited drive, SMIC one these is pretty poor.

Loads of people advise different things but do some reseacrh and get the right map and it will be quick enough.

Ooo where do u live, I'm in stoke...I commute from stoke to j12,m40 mon to fri so u might of seen me there?
I'm a researcher , always looking for best ways to do stuff, I'm not afraid to spend thr money just wanna get it right first time, so all necessary mods would be done before the remap, including brakes, no good having all the go if u can't stop lol :) but I'll see, I was looking for more power tbh and not really knowing what could be pulled from an fr thought best to ask on here :)

Ooo, fellow Stokie!

If you do remap, keep it safe and below 290lb/ft ;)
Haha honorary stokie, only been here a year n half, but learning all ur ways lol, oatcakes omg, gotta be the best thing about stoke lol!!
Okies then thanks for the advice, don't fancy constant clutch changes, it was bad enough having to replace headlight bulbs every month lol (god bless HID's hahaha!!) ;)

Oatcakes are amazing!

Depending on where you are in Stoke, for servicing and work I recommend BVR Automotive in Longton. Fantastic VAG nuts with competitive pricing and top work!

If you do need a clutch change, you're looking at clutch and flywheel around £500 to replace. Better doing both at the same time :)

I'm tunstall kinda way but I have good friends in Meir, so kinda go past longton a lot. I take my girl to main seat dealers on the a50 most of the time but only cus I don't know the area or any real vag knowledgeable people. I'll take a look into them. I'm due another Cambelt end of the month (14 months since last haha!) so be good to find somewhere reliable instead of just using main dealer all the time! Defo do clutch n flywheel together I agree - very reasonable price my last car was £1300 for that :-0

Have you seriously done 60-80k in the last 14 months?

There are a few VAG indys in Stoke, used them all, but stuck with BVR in the end.

Good going!

I've done 34k miles in the last year, thought that was good going :D

Can't remember the price of mine as I had it done when I got the car and a full service done too, but it was the cheapest!
