I've got a custom 2.5" turbo back exhaust with cat removed, PD160 air feed pipe and green cotton filter.
Standard map just now.
Average around 60mph driving (mostly motorways) and i'm guessing at 99k and standard map i'm probably making around 130bhp. Any power i've gained from my mods will possibly already been lost from age.

EGR delete and remap after new year should make it more fun

I bought a PD160 inlet and Green Cotton filter and it made no difference, so it's back in the box! I suspect the exhaust system is paying you dividends though.

It wont really on its own, helps when mapped though as it does flow better.

I noticed a lot more induction noise from them

Going to put the standard filter back in though as i read the green cotton ones aren't very good at filtering out dust when used dry and when oiled can kill the MAF

+1, really after every mod you should remap, as the engine is no longer performing to what it thinks it has :) but in the real world we wait till we have done everything we want first lol!

Hardcore: I had a mushroom filter on my last car and I was like you, when I researched it, the dry ones let in loads of dust and the wet ones sucked oil into the engine! So for this car Ive done nothing fancy, just a pipercross panel until I decide its future (ie stay as she is or do summit MAD!) :)

Green make one of the better filters, plus you can oil yourself and mkae sure your careful with it, doesnt need that mcuh, the majority of problems come from when people cover the filters in oil which in effect can causes issues.

no figured that one from what someone above said (lol it might of been you that said it but im forgetful!)

Id say its had a lot of uprated bits n pieces to see that, almost up 100 on hp and 140ftlbs so im dead keen to find out how :D bet its fun!!

Its like driving an automatic when overtaking, foot down and we're away! Unfortunately though it has cost a fortune, eats front tyres and currently needs cv joints

Getting sold to buy an A8 v8 tdi after Christmas (touring Europe a bit next year).

haha yeh u cant fault kick down in some autos!

my FR chews thro front tyres enough as it is, but i have to replace tyres often anyway as i am an enthusiast corner taker :D i was chatting to someone the other day who also mentioned increased torque to that level would see me needing a few mounts n bushes.
Money side im not so worried, i never expect to see any money i invest in cars back, but i dont wanna spend it wrong, eg if i have an amount to spend ill look around and investigate and see what will get me the best deal power wise; either mods on current car or getting a weekender :)
Im toying with a V8 possibly but looking supercharged, cant fault the sound of a V8 and the A8 tdi will be mint for touring :D
