it will be interesting when i remove this thing on the octy and see what the hell it actually is.. GT3071R its supposed to be, but this is T25 flanged  All will be revealed when I strip the housings off it when its off & measure inducer/exducer sizes.

Anyhows GT2871R going on.. for a more drivable tow friendly spool and high 300's and nice and drivable with it.

As for how 600bhp inj fwd will feel... I'll have to let you know.
GT35 sounds mad as a fish even just on idle speeds... its shifts shed loads of air just off idle, so cant imagine how its going to be when pumping high boosts... :D

ebc like an apexi avc i used to use, was set easily for rpm levels and boost you wanted at those rpm levels, as well as having 2 boost ranges to select as well as off which was actuator pressure

the n75 map on your early ecu is crude compared to the later dbw units. your map should be able to control this fine tho. (return to cc for fixing it if its gone wonky for some reason, after swapping n75's to confirm this first. if it worked fine once it should continue to do so)

I've been looking at the Greddy profec b stage II. Looks like a very competant unit. Can be set quite easily.

Like you say the map was perfect for about 3 weeks. Boost control was fine. I wouldn't have thought the map would suddenly change, so it would have to be the turbo or N75?

I'll fit the N75 when I get it and then talk to JBS. Also will remove the downpipe to check for cracks. Just been real busy at the moment and I need my car on the road.

I used to have a profec on my old mr2 turbo, fairly good unit but the blitz is better.Have you checked the duty on the N75?
Bill,
A "real" GT3071R is a awesome allround turbo mate, the exhaust housing really does flow well, trying to push a gt2871 you might find it's actually laggier! A 3071 will do 450bhp at 2 bar held.

"a real" GT3071R!
Unfortunately i think you will find that isn't a GT3071R on there. Is it internally gated?T25 flanged doesn't help, what manifold is on there?Has it got worse ,ie has it started to become laggier over time?

Swapped out the "new" N75 for my old one today and it's cured the overboost. I'm back to an average of 1.4bar. Looks like the other N75 was bleeding off too much air to the inlet.

I think I'll still invest in an EBC for better control and fail safe.

not got laggier since i had it no... been shite from day #1
T25 flanged, internally gated, 5bolt housing with 3" vband adaptor sitting on a jbs tubular manifold

may be a gt2871R, i know someone with a gt2876r and it would not push more than 410bhp because the exhaust housing/turbine was from Gt28rs,same compressor wheel in a Gt30R housing did 550bhp!!Just a guess but as you say it's t25 flange.

ickle flange yes. will see when new one arrives. will be able to check it on my new rhd friendly manifold also (aside from my manifold being T3 and externally gated)
