How to debadge?

Hey everyone,

Im looking at debadging the 'sportrider' decal from that back of my ibiza and wanted to know what the best way to go about doing it is so it doesnt look a mess afterwards?

Yeah, the cheap looking sticker bit.

Think im going to leave the ibiza lettering on, might have a go on photoshop to see what it would look like without because i cant decide whether i like it on or not.

Hey guys, I've got a 1998 Seat Cordoba SE 1.6 and was wondering how I would remove the 'SEAT' and 'Cordoba' from the boot.. I'm going to get a badgeless grill for the front.. And then also maybe if possible remove the SEAT Badge from the boot too? Any ideas on how I would do: 1-The Lettering, 2-The Rear Badge?

pur hotwater over the badges to loosen glue then peel off with dental floss/credit card then to get rid of excess glue i used whitespirit but watch out for the paintwork!
 
All done, just gotta get some white spirit on there after I pick my Dad up from breaking down! Hahaa
 
Hahaa, I don't smoke, so I'm all good :p Got a petrol syphon too, so it's all good, will do it tomorrow when it's light :)
 
Yeah dont try it in the dark and cold. Ive found you have to rub quite hard with white spirit which cant be any good for paint fade, petrol just turns the glue into a jelly like state which rubs of easy. Best of luck ;)
 
Well, when I've done my 15 posts, I will post some before and afters! :)
 
I had no trouble getting any residue that was left off with a bit of tar remover and my thumb :)

Ah fair enough :)

Personally i'd use something less abrasive like farcela or brasso, it would take a lot to damage the paint with those. Brasso works surprisingly well for removing the adhesive left on the car
 
Fair enough, where can I pick up Brasso from? Halfords? Thanks.
 
Brasso can be good for removing light scratches but remember its a metal cutting compound so needs to be used with caution or you cut back too much paint. :cry:

Better to melt the glue with lighter fuel and wipe of straight away followed by a good wash with warm water and washing up liq, leather off and polish :D
