This might sound stupid, but bigger alloys will be heavier plus be more rolling resistance!
Smaller 15 or 16" alloys will help. Ok, might not look as cool as filling the arches with big 17's, but will help overall.

As has been said, back box and filter will help the engine breath more freely. These will give small gains in responsiveness - it all helps! ;)

It might be better to save the cash and put it towards styling - after all, no-one is going to know its a 1.2 unless they look under the bonnet. :) Turn it into a mint cruise car!

Yeh i agree, if you have a 1.2 and dont have the cash/insurance to get a FR etc, just make it into a lush cruise car...... that way, when it comes to mods, the world is your oyester.......

hey guys
been looking at an induction kit for my ibiza 16v 1.4. ive found a pipercross one but not sure what to do with the breather pipe that attaches from the engine to the engine cover. I bought a filter for it from halfords but it didnt fit. not sure where to look for another one that will fit
can anyone recommend what to fit over it when i fit the induction kit?

get the one from halfords, it will fit if you trim the pipe down to the slim part. Or go to the dealers as they said they could get me one.......

halfords wont fit silver, we tried it remember and we choked the pipe lol

I seem to remember I had the same thing on my MK3 1.4 and i'm pretty sure the breather filter is correct yes.

You wont really gain alot of hp from modding a 1.2 engine but usual things the
majority go for are induction kits and full system exhausts removing the CAT.

Other possible options are you could upgrade the cams and pulleys which would release a few more horses but would set you back around the £550 mark, In the past ive seen not an ibiza but a corsa c with an electric supercharger kit which was pritty quick not worth the money in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

Warp 9, ha ha!

Myself, I'd like little bit more torque from my 1.2. Can sometimes be a bit frustrating trying to get up some of the hills on the A34 with a full set of passengers and having it stop going any faster at 68mph. Maybe I'll just make them lose weight...

lol i no wat u mean the hills are everywere lol
