Am going to be purchasing a new clifford alarm soon to replace the standard crap that comes on the Ibiza FR. It seems that the car can be abused without the alarm even making a noise, hence i want to change the alarm.

Can any body give me some instructions on how to fit this alarm to a MK4 ibiza FR 2007??

Just getting a bit sick of the rubbish alarm that doesn't seem to do anything unless i have a party in the back with the on, then it seems to go off

Or better still.... Is there anybody that will be willing to fit it for me :D ;)

Surely your insurance will go through the roof with a DIY fitted alarm, as opposed to a factory fitted one?

On another note, if you have access to VAG-COM, you may want to get someone to check the volumetric sensors are enabled - I've heard stories of cars coming out of the factory with them turned off! My FR was OK, but you never know!

yeah i know leigh i sold my pd100 for a fr im quite fully aware of what options are available for the mk4's as i have owned 3 :) (sry if that dont come out right..) wind down the windows and put ur arm through obviously with ur car locked.. if it dont go off its more like the sensors havent been turned on like said above..

Why make the - "depends if there's one fitted" comment if you alreay know that there is then?

well, the standard alarm is a load of trash to be honest. It doesn't protect against vandalism, the car being jacked up, people lurking around it. The only thing that it protects against is if the windows are smashed or the car is wired. That is why i have been looking at getting the clifford alarm.

Still don't see the point - nobody pays any attention to car alarms anyway and insurance isn't going to get any better for fitting a clifford alarm as the OE unit is CAT 1 already.

If you don't have it fitted by an approved fitter your insurance will be worse as it will be like not having one at all! If you do it get it done proper but it won't be cheap. Fitting your own alarm unless you know what your doing is a nightmare as the instruction are universal for any car. Tried fitting one on my fiesta my mates gave up in the end! Anyone want an alarm for £40 still got it!?
