Get yourself a DA and some polish, give the car a good days detailing and you will soon fallback in love with it!!

Some times it not all about feeling **** loads of power, if its your pride an joy getting it to look its best will be the way forward.

was it you that had really low torque figures for a mapped LCR?

i say forget BHP talk and go for some good old grunt.
get it sorted mate

good luck

its the same torque that keeps blowing these engines too :p
made me think twice about stage 2 tbh after hearing so many people blowing their engines.

need to look after it i suppose. its your pride n joy.
violins.

If you abuse a car then it will die on you, there's no reason that a well looked after car will let go. Stage 2 is nothing new but the fact is you never read a thread that goes "I have Stage 2 & my engine hasn't exploded", only the threads where people have had problems...naturally. I can count on one hand the amount of members who have bent rods & TBH reading their posts it was kind of their fault.

anything over 300 torques need special care i suppose.

what precautions do you take generally?

Warm up, cool down, change the oil regularly & keep it serviced everywhere else. Don't do hard launches and don't load your foot flat to the floor in 6th at 2000rpm. Nothing major and the latter two are common sense anyway, they'd take their toll on any car.

nice one.
dude in the garage suggested oil changes every 6 months or so.

what mapper are you with?

ive changed to revo linear which a massive improvement to the old revo map. much more useable power.
better for my clutch too.

do AMD maps have power waiting in the higher revs?

Dolby, make the change, get a new mapper :)

impressive!
what torque you running, must be quite high!

i presume you have the badger tip? good improvements to your old tip?

lovely!
ordering the badger tip next week. hopefully edge over 300 torques from just a stage 1.
you must be getting wheel spins in 3rd gear, even.

surely a stage 2 st3 would easily hit 350 torques from a 2.5 litre engine?

On a colder day, t0m (same mods) ran 300bhp & 330lb/ft so I would expect the same around Winter TBH.

I ran on a warm day in a warm RR room and I do wonder how much the custom exhaust setup I tried & oversized FMIC contibuted...probably quite a lot. Either way, it's a serious piece of machinery now.

Dolby I have had 1 yr with the LCR and I am always itching to change - pistonheads all the time. BUT once I give the damn thing a clean I always enjoy it again and forget about selling, this was the same for my last 2 cars aswel.

BUT after 5 years you need to make a decision as to whether there is a better car FOR YOU, I had my 'perfect' car but it got stolen and my outlook completely changed.

The LCR is perfect for me right now, quick, looks stunning mint and there are endless changes to be made to make it much better, it is on 55k and i hope to have it another 55 running as my family car in the future.

I am keeping it stage 1 but I want it to handle the power properly. Uprating hosing, brakes, ARB's etc etc to hold 260 properly and then an LSD is my final piece to the long puzzle.

Dolby, it'll be a sad day when you sell up. I love your LCR its always been kept so well. If I were you I'd get the paint work sorted, the wheels refurbished, car serviced then see where you are a couple of month down the line. If your still not happy maybe its time to think what to get next, if you refind the love, squeeze some extra torque out of it and you'll wonder what came over you.

Just out of curiosity, what would you consider getting next?
