Hi Gang,

First post- so be gentle :)

just bought my Se Lux in White but unfortunately it came with this horrid stock radio (yoou know the one- non Bose, non Pioneer unit, cheepest of them all without sat nav).

Phone call pairing to BT from my Galaxy s2 works fine but no option to activate media streaming. What do I need to do to stream tunes from phone to this unit & control music with steering controls?

Oh, and also this unit has to have a name - anybody knows what it is? Symphony II or II+ or whatever?

Thanks a million!

I don't like to be the bringer of bad news but I don't think you can stream music with the Bluetooth. You certainly can't do it with the RNS-E Bose system.

I'm afraid you can't, streaming is relatively new... And the radios in exeos aren't that new so don't support it,

It's a software and Bluetooth version thing. It needs to support A2DP protocol. Not something VCDS can fix unfortunately.

That's what I was referring to. It would seem that my bluetooth module is the same model as the one in other VAG cars which *do* support A2DP and there's a switch in VAG-COM to enable it. I.e. as with a lot of 'features' which the higher spec cars have, its all there in the lower spec ones too .. just switched off.

In some cases (e.g. folding mirrors) it can be turned on but it won't work because the motors are not there ... but the processor still recognises the request and issues the command. In other cases, where the module is the same and there are no mechanical parts needed, then the embedded software, and hence the functionality is the same, but disabled by a digital switch in the processor ...
