hunting on idle!!!

bit of advice needed, my engine hunts on idle (surges) insted of staying below 1000rpm idle speed, anyone else have/had this problem or anyone cured it??? i've replaced the throtle body as that was the fault code stored in the ecu. its a 1.4 8v APQ engine code

Check your MAF mate.

Check your vac/breather hoses aren't cracked or leaking, as that can cause this problem too

whats the MAF???? is it the same as a MAP sensor?????
