Suddenly while I was driving the car had an unexpected behavior as I was releasing the gas pedal.
It made a "brake effect" As if I was going form 3rd to second gear, a cut/brake effect.

I noticed that while the car was not in motion but working my Rpm pointed @ 1000... ( instead of 800-830).

I assumed it was something that had to do with the intake...

So I replaced every pipe that lead to the intake ( see 1, 2, 3, 4), except the sensor see 5 No errors in VagCom).

I also cleansed my K&N filter and pipe with WURTH product and gasoline ( see 6).

My mechanic cleansed everything that had to do with the intake regulator ( see 7 ) and adjust it to basic function ( it needed a reset to get it's basic function cause it wasn't as it should ).

The abnormal effect stopped for 1-2 days.............

BUT ...

3 days ago it came back ( the vehicle worked fine for 2 days) I noticed that this was happening if I go above 4.300 RPM and I was wondering the only thing that stands now ( after the whole mechanical repair) is my tunned ECU / chip.

Do you think that something is wrong with the tunned programing of my ECU???

Any other suggestions, please advice ?

Best regards,
Dimitris

What crossed my mind:

a) My Chip is out of order and after malfunction has a will of it's own. ( 5%)
b) My intake has a hole and when it get warm, there is a loss in the air flow. ( 15 % )
c) The degrees of my intake when it passes 4000 RPM so there is a sensor (if i recall ) somewhere there and provides wrong info to the intake and leaves it open, thus 1000 Rpm until the "restart" of the engine. (80%)

Even the service of the intake I might have to go for a new/used one if it's faulty ( maybe a VR6... If I recall there is compatibility, is that so? )

Sounds reasonable to all of you?

check the throttle body is clean and free moving then whilst apart have a look at the rear as there is a switch on the back of the throttle body that has the loom hovering over the exhaust manifold and the wiring get's hot and plays up

strip it back to make sure it's not all black and crappy

As Flapper says mate, check that wiring, I did a thread on it a while back with pictures, do a search for `Erratic Idling`. Once I did mine its been OK ever since.

There is a story about an after market 2DIN mp3 DVD player ( no name) .
This player was made to play media files....
MP3,DVD, Avi....
NOT TO MAKE the electrics circuits of my car brake down.... [:@] ( plus mine as well )

Guys you can't imagine...
I listen to music and I get 1000 RPM not in motion, just by having the engine running....

I turn of the engine start without enabling the sound system and the problem is solved...
PS... The Amplifier is receiving power. It's the power up of the media source that "enables the effect".
830 to 870 steady...

Power error messing up with the intake???
Never heard of it as an issue....
:-o :drive2:

Power and ground cables *seem OK.

For the love of GOD.

power drain on a dodgy/small battery causing your engine to rev higher as the dodgy/small alternator is put under load ?

what amp/size is the alternator ?

size/amp battery?
