Josh's Ibiza Cupra

Hi Guys, about to pick up my new Cupra on Sunday (Black 11 plate) so I thought I'd make a Readers Ride thread to document any changes I make to it etc!

At the point of pickup, the car has already been lowered by 80mm. The previous owner also added an OEM Spoiler that colour matches VERY nicely, and a dump valve. He also had a Forge Induction kit which he never fitted to the car that I'm buying off of him at a very good price ;)

There are a few things I'd like to do to it myself including a full Miltek Exhaust System and maybe a Stage 1 Remap.

Has anyone else got any other ideas for my car? Let me know! :D

So I've had the car just over a week now and have some pictures for you guys.

It also just this morning ticked over onto 35k miles. Not bad for an 11 plate!

I'm fitting LED lights in the footwells tonight so will upload pics of those later

So I've put all the wiring into my car for the LED's last night. Started this at about 8pm and by the time it came to wire the LED's up it was dark. Being the stubborn person I am I decided I didn't need the light of day, and ended up blowing a fuse [:@] I've found which one it is and made a temporary 10v fuse by combining the wires of 2 5v :p I'm going to re-wire the connection in the interior light housing as this is where they crossed. Going to solder instead of simply taping the wires together! This will all be done Saturday morning as I realised playing with car electrics in the dark is not wise!

I also bought some lamin-x and plastidip off of Amazon, these should arrive within 3-5 working days. I'm going to be tinting the rear lights and spraying the badges and lettering on the boot matte black :D

I'll upload pics when all this is done, but update the thread with any more mistakes I inevitably make

How did you find it removing the trim for the wiring? And was it straight forward hahaha my turn to ask all the questions

It was a pain to start with, but I was being a little too delicate! Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the door seal can be removed? So I eventually manned up and pulled the A-Frame cover off with a bit off force and went down to the footwell with the wire. It's fairly simple once you get it off but I was too nervous pulling the car apart as I'd only just got it haha! Blowing the fuse was annoying, especially because my manual gave me an incorrect position for my fuse box [:@] I've done all the wiring for the passenger side, just need to re-wire the interior light and do the drivers side wiring and then wire the LED's on Saturday morning!

Are you going to do a step by step take some photos of the progress would like to do this myself

So it's all done! I documented with photos the best I can, here we go!

Installing LED footwell lights on Seat Ibiza Cupra

These are the LED's I will be using:

I picked them up off of Amazon for quite cheap but I know they are a decent quality.

I've already run the wiring in on the passenger side it looks like this:

Step 1 - Remove the fuse for the interior light.

Step 2 - Remove the interior light cover.

Step 3 - Unscrew the interior light (two screws).

It should fall down like this.

Step 4 - Take out the interior light bulb and loop the wire and wrap it around the interior light bulb holder.

Step 5 - Remove the sun-visor and pull the A-Frame cover off slightly.

Step 6 - Feed the wire through the hole behind the interior light.

Step 7 - Bring the wire along the roof lining down the A-Frame.

Step 8 - Using fine sandpaper, rub the surface of the LED's so the light scatters better as LED's can be quite direct.

Step 9 - Connect the LED's to the wire from the interior light and use bullet connector to hold them tightly in place.

Step 10 - Attach the LED lights in the footwell! These LED's came with adhesive on the back but I cable tied as well just incase the adhesive fails at a later point.

And there we have it! LED lit footwells! I will take a few photos tonight when you can really see them. But I am really happy with how it went. It took about 2 hours and is a really cheap mod!

Any queries or questions leave a comment and I will respond ASAP!

So all my orders have come today! They've trickled in over the last week or so! I order some bits from Hong Kong by accident which is why it took so long! :p But now I have my red LED interior lights, Matte black Plasti-Dip for the badges and lettering and my black plastic tints for rear lights, sidelights and fogs :D

Liking the progress so far! I tried adding footwell lights to my mk4. I failed miserably haha.

Well I've had my car back a couple of days, I bought it a couple of welcome home presents :p Basically a load of bright white lights for the numberplate and headlights! I'll get some night shots when I can :) Also if all goes to plan should be giving her a quick wash, then wrapping the headlights and plastidipping the badges this weekend! Not sure whether to de-badge the 'Cupra' at the back or just plasti-dip that too! Thoughts?

I'm stuck on whether to remove the ibiza or just plasti dip it I would dip the cupra means that someone who may buy it later has the option but only my opinion need to get more lights for mine I have been out on site with work and haven't been using the car so have neglected it what suspension/coilovers have you put into yours
