I live in Birmgham....not particularly a high ranked crime area, but its Birmingham.

If i insure it at my grandparents address, 12mile down the road in the country, its drops to £1050.

why dont you insure it there then? just go live with them for a while.save you a lot of money!

Because that will make my insurance void if i was to ever claim.

I just bought a house and moved in 3 weeks ago, phoned the insurance company last week to amend my details and they moaned at me for not telling them sooner!

So the chance of being paid out if my car was stolen from this address while being insured at another address is minimal.

To do what you said is wrong imo.

Just had my renewal from sky insurance.

Last year was paying £1314 with 2yrs NCB and 9 points

Now paying £486 with 3 yrs NCB and 9 points

Im well chuffed now

I'm with them mate, 497 with a remap so don't put off the remap

Well, looking at your mods list - you've a bit more than me, and a years less NCB so if all of those are already declared the increase shouldn't be more than about £50, it wasn't for me anyhoo.

Yeh all mods declared, only had to add the FMIC onto it from last years and that cost extra £14 so well worth it if had an accident

Haha I still am paying £3k in insurance untill my renewal is due.

Some days when i think about how much the insurance is really setting me back, i just wanna sell the car and get something with real low insurance.

But i just can't bring meself to do it.

Also...got me MOT tomorrow...just changed me number plates back to lgal types. I'm expecting it to fail...so there's more cash thrown at it.

not an MOTable item for windows, HIDS never a glitch either (unless you've taken the units off?)

tracking isn't MOTable either, only the wear caused by it

Theres always light at the end of the tunnel!! I'm 21 with 4 years no claims and I'm paying £700, it'll drop....eventually :s

i pay only £176 full comp for the car in my photo 5.7v8
but my ibiza 1.4 2000 i pay about £310 full comp with about 9 years ncb

I paid £740 for 1.4 mpi last year 1 year ncb, should drop this year, 2years ncb in november hopefully
