Thinking of looking at a 56 plate ibiza cupra tdi just wondered if they had DPF filters and if the cause major headaches? or is it 2007 onwards?

I know you can have them removed/deleted but how much are we talking and will it cause problems come mot time or any other problems

Really, whys that?

Are the cupra tdi 160 cams really as bad as people say and would i be better looking for a 130fr? will lumpy idle/smoke give the cam away?

What other things should i look out for on either the cupra or fr tdis? is it normal engine,turbo,clutch/dual mass flywheel as well as suspension bushes? Rusty front arches and hatch?

The cams seem to be more of a problum on the older versions but still if serviced regular shouldn't be a problum. Rusty front arches are a problum due to the sound deadening in the side arch easyly removed.

The fr s are basicly the same engine so still do suffer with the cam faults.

Duel mass fly wheels can be a problum but on what car are they not the Cupra bushes are better than the fr a the Cupra is quite a good car tobehonest

The only engines fitted with DPF on the MK4 ibiza was the 1.4TDI and even then its the later ones.

The DPF was really first introduced on the Leon FR TDI PD170..

On diesel cars since about 2009 they all have them now
