thats what i thought but i contacted my dealer and all they said was keep an eye on it and let them know if it changes, but i would have been expecting something like between 350 and 450 miles.when i fill the tank, the computer only shows 300 miles till i need to refill is that what other tdi drivers find?

Take the lead out of your shoe. The accelerator pedal isn't an on/off switch you know. ;)

Seriously though the number of miles per tank depends on how you drive it and on what type of roads. If you spend all your time in traffic then it'll obviously go down, but if you're cruising on a motorway then it'll go up. I think the most I've ever got out of one tank driving "normally" is about 500 miles, but in general day to day use around town I get between 350 and 400.

That's worse than my Corrado G60!

You should be getting at least 400miles per tank.

What nobody has mentioned is whether they are just filling the tank until the pumps clicks off, of if they are properly filling it (ie venting - not sure what this is ? Do a search ;) ).

My PD130 is remapped to roughly the same output as a Cupra TDI, and from a tankfull (using venting) I typically get 500 to a tank, often more.

Im in the same boat mate the thing drinks the juice mainly cos I drive it like I stole it.
I put £20 a time in my tank and get about 180 miles out of it. The ave MPG on the computer says 36.5..
I have had it up to 50mpg on a long run so can achive a good MPG but wheres the fun in that.
I didnt buy a Cupra to drive it like Mrs Daisy. :p
By the way the tyres only last 10,000 miles and Ive just done a set of brake pads in 20,000.
These things aint the cheapest to run but its worth it :funk:

mines knocking on for 180BHP (with genetically modified silicone implant) and i get 55 - 60mpg on a morning. slightly less on a night when i'm heading for home. But easily 450 + to a tank.

Just clocked 300 miles on just over half tank this morning.

Mines a Leon but I normally put £40 in at a time not quite a full tank the display tells me its good for 405 miles and I normally get 380 to 400 until the light comes on with an average of around 38 mpg dont do any motorway miles, I can get more but dont really enjoy driving it like my mom, might have somthing to do with why the clutch has started to slip though.

Does sound rather crap, are you using supermarket fuel or BP ult.... Tesco's is the best s/m fuel.
My chipped Passat does 38+ local even in this cold weather and 43 @80 on the mway

well ive been going to the esso and using their diesel pump, not any special type or anything still pretty gutted tho, could it be that because the car is brand new this is happening?ive just done over 500 miles in it?another thing when you put the key in the ingnition and turn it round until just before starting the engine do you hear a noise from the back of the car?nothing major, like something clicking into place or along those lines?

Surely with only 500 miles on the clock it's nowhere near run in yet and so the engine's still rather tight. I could be inclined to say give it a few more miles before passing judgement.

I think the noise you're hearing is the fuel pump priming the lines so it's nothing to worry about. I could be wrong though...
