A little on the 1.0 tsi but then it comes off easy with a little 00 wire wool and autosol. Just keep on top of it.

A ha! A fellow 1.0TSI owner! I was contemplating starting a new thread to discuss the engine but thought I was in a bit of an exclusive club at the moment! How are you finding it?

Love it. So much better than the previous 1.4 Copa we had. It's the girlfriends but I drive it daily.
DSG is so smooth and pick up is so much better from low down. Amazing for a 1.0 (turbo aside)
Don't think I'd go back to a manual now, even for 'her' ;)

My MPG is now improving. Found it relatively easy (didn't have to try *too* hard) to get an average of 50MPG this morning on the run to work (complete urban trip). Bearing in mind, this is only the third time I've filled up with fuel :)

MPG definitely increases a little bit once the engine has been worn in more got this the other day from a trip there and back on holiday mixture of motorway with and without heavy/standstill traffic, small roads and city driving on my 1.4TSI ACT with custom catback. Pardon the dust needed a clean once I was home again :)

I checked mine last night and yes there is a build up, but just used a rag to wipe the inside and removed it. Not sure if this is something that happened on my last FR (didn't get a chance to check it).

I cleaned mine yesterday and it does come off very easily. Maybe just something to keep an eye on.

On another matter, I've just posted in another thread about a problem I'm having when the ambient temperature outside is very warm (this week first noticed).

I can't tell whether it's the DSG making the noise or something else. So all of you 1.4 er's, have you noticed this noise on yours?
Air con is off (and hasn't been on since starting the car)
Fans are off
Infotainment is off.

The noise stops instantly when the car stop/starts or I turn the ignition off completely. It only occurs when the engine is running:

That's pretty decent MPG for the 1.4 and makes me feel the need to try harder :p

So collected my car yesterday.... Loving it so far!! Lima green looks class!!

Not a clue Mark - Have just logged in again from husbands computer and defs working there. Will try and reupload photos in a minute or two :)

Just logged on computer and can see the pics - weird. Looks pretty great ! What engine is it again?

Nice. It's certainly quick enough for me for the time being - might look at a Cupra next though.

My plan is that once the Revo map comes out for it to get mine mapped - same BHP as cupra and i loved my last ibiza that i had mapped by revo - drove so well

According to Revo site it's now available - £399 (plus taxes, so I assume +VAT)

Well personally - still loving mine. The engine has freed up nicely at 5K miles. Had a **** in a Nissan 350Z showing off to his girlfriend as he darted in and out of traffic. Pulled up next to him at the next set of lights and he sat there revving his engine - I looked across and smiled which seemed to rile him for some reason.

Anyway the lights changed and I thought why not - floored it and he did like wise. Nobody was as surprised as I was when my little 150 pulled ahead and stayed ahead as he wrung every inch out of his screaming 350Z!

I can only think his 350Z was past it's best at 12 years old and he was a crap driver as on paper he should have blown me away. His face as I slowed and let him pass me further up the road - priceless.

It's a tremendous little car.
