I've been looking at getting an Ibiza Cupra TDi recently.

The garage local to me can get me one in black for £15535 and a part exchange price for my car of £8250. As my car is only worth £6800 and I have £7000 outstanding thats a pretty good price I would say.

The other day I noticed, however, that the target price for a Cupra in What Car? magazine is £14535 so I went back to my dealer to see if he could match this price. His response was that since I'm getting an extra £1250 for the value of my car he can't drop the price of the Cupra because technically I'm getting it for less than 14535 if you take the equity from my current car off of the list price of the Cupra. I tried and tried to push him but he wouldn't budge.

Andy

The £14535 is the cost of the 20VT, there is an extra 1000 premium for the diesel so both prices are correct. When i got mine (20VT in 2004) the petrol and diesel were the same price £15535, i managed to get about a grand off it though. which was nice!

same here really, am looking at an fr tdi over the summer. cupra is just not worth the extra money imo, higher insurance for not a huge performance increase on performance well not worth it imo when you can remap an fr tdi to more power than a standard cupra

hey tom did you go through stow one morning last week just gone 8.30? think it was you as i saw a very nice looking what i thought was a cupra then;)

looking at getting the new aero kit on mine as well:whistle:

Could well of been me, I will go through Stow on the odd occasion but mainly Burton road - scampton - brattleby etc What car should I be looking out for with you pal? Red Ibiza isnt it?

My first diesel and really really pleased with it, you should love it! Aero kit looks smart, only seen the one pic of the front though

yeah red mk2 with cupra alloys, don't go to gains too much anymore generally just go to morrisions at the weekend to do some shopping and see old work mates

really struggling to hold off ordering one now tbh i just want more power and economy. will wait for some proper pics of the aero kit for the ibiza, front looks good so the side and the rear look interesting

Il look out for you then! Im at gainsborough weekdays and lincoln weekends, so always about. I went to Grimsby for my FR, service was fantastic, best price, Lincoln was terrible, salesman didnt even know pre facelift from facelift, price was totally off. Anyway will stop spamming thread! go get one ordered for the summer.

The deal i got was from main dealer, when i first walked in, the price i was told was £15500 then i told them that id seen "Perrys" in Milton-keynes advertising one for £14295 pre-registed and would they match this price as i was prepared to travel to save that sort of money and they said yes:D .I guess they wern't selling many cars that close to xmas, they even gave me a limited choice on colour (wanted a red one but had luna grey in the end) Perrys only had one black one at that price(didnt tell 'em that bit) and they never checked, so
As for the part exchange it was only a W-reg 1.8 Focus with not a lot MOT/Tax, thrashed and in dire need of a service and they gave me £2500 which IMO not that bad.

getting black or grey off them is an even better saving than red as red is a free colour where as the black and the grey are a £350 option!!! not long till i pick up my black fr tdi......
