No, the manual was printed wrong, enter the code and press 'SCAN'
Diesels don't have coil packs as its high compression ignition. It could possibly be an inlet air leak after the MAF, stuck EGR valve or a host of other issues. A proper diagnostic scan should identify the problem.
Right think we have finally got somewhere. Garage called today and explained that the issue seems to be that the crank and cam sensors are out of sync. Essentially this means that the computer is injecting fuel at the wrong times meaning its coughing into a start up.
After initial testing of the sensors they appear to be functioning properly although one of the sensors has high resistance on the wiring that runs from one side of the engine bay to the other, signifying there may be damage or corrosion to the wire which is causing the issue with the syncronisation. He went on to explain that this is why its worse when its warm but it went a bit over my head.
They are stripping out the loom and undertaking a few more tests to double check the issue before repairing/replacing the wiring.
£200 quid lighter but fingers crossed its finally sorted. Also the Radio is working so thanks for the head-sup on the misprint.
