The cupra bushes are VERY VERY hard to get in, the only thing to remember is to have the side with the recess at the front. When putting mine in we used a press - looks like this one - that Scott's brother had made up, we where only using a standard rachet-socket to drive it in and it was really tough going!
Due to the great amount effort needed to push them in this way it was easier to remove the whole wishbone assembly - you can give it a go when still attached to the car however you would need arms like Rambo to get it in!

yes, i didnt bother and ended up ruining a pair of tyres:censored:

Correct - first time I changed the wishbone bushes back in September I DIDN'T get the alignment done and this is what happened to my right front tyre after 5 months.

These tyres cost £50 each and only went on in August 09.

yep thats exactly what happened too mine,

cost me £100 to replace the tyres yet the alighment would have only cost £14:whistle:
10 months on with the alighnment done the new tyres are wearing nice and even.

One other thing to note about correct fitting :

One of the flats of the hexagon in the middle hole of the bush needs to be at the top so that the wishbone sits correctly.

Cupra or standard? I know the standard ones have a sort of thick lip of rubber at the front - this goes to the outside iirc.
the cupra bushes I got had no obvious markings on them and the whole was perfectly central.

BOTH - If you look at the hole in the middle where the wishbone will fit - it is a hexagon shape.

One of the flats of the hexagon must be at the top ( or bottom ) when fitted.
