Ibiza sport help??????

HI PEOPLE

the mrs has a ibiza sport face lift on a 06 plate 14.16v engine 39k miles

right the problem is, it makes a loud ticking noise when driving it.(yes it has oil in it) lol

some where on here i read that ticking noise coming from these engines are not good!!

tapets? only problem is i cant find thread on it!

you here it on tick over & when driving???????

some one help is this ok?

does it do it when the engine is cold and stops when it is warmed up ?

check the tyres for screws/ nails...

That can make a ticking noise when driving.

Is the ticking constant or does it speed up and down depending on the speed of the car?

Might be worth getting your timing chain tensioners checked out. I've seen that before.

its seems to tick louder on start up from cold does get quieter after a while, its 100% noise from engine

I have a ticking on mine mate, almost sounds like Pinking used to do back in the day! I think mine may just be plugs that aint setup with correct gap etc! It's silent on tickover, but when you apply load in say 3rd doing about 20mph, it ticks quite loudly!

If it ticks on idle, can you hear roughly where it's coming from with bonnet up? If it's tappets you should be able to hear by putting the metal end of a screw driver on the side of the rocker cover and put your ear on the handle! Should be a noticable tapping sound! (Make sure you get the driver right way round! ;-) lol)!!!!

same problem as mine are they easy to fix/sort out anyone ????
