My Ibiza has been pretty fault free really, only issues from mods Ive made! (oops!)

My Passat on the other hand has been a complete pup but I dont think all Passats are useless and wouldn't have any problems buying another one.

I think the problem with forums is people only really post when they need help so they come across as negative a lot of the time. If every Seat owner posted up each day their car DIDNT brea down Im sure they would be no better or worse than any other marque.

The Ibiza is a bad car definatly. Especially if you are still on stock suspension like me. The suspension has a habbit of being crashy and being able to break easily!

Also, there is too much wind noise on them when going above 65mph. Both of my Ibizas that i have owned are quite a bag of wank tbh.

on the suspension i agree, can't wait to change mine. As for the wind noise, it's a car that's built to a budget, can't expect too much.

Its not really budget if you think about it, its just a design flaw that never got addressed! My old mk2 (which cost 650) felt beter built!

it is a budget car, there will be the odd thing that's not been properly thought threw in the design stage such as the fact that there is no permanent clock anywhere on the car if you have an mpg computer. Just some things that you either have to put up with or find a solution to yourself ;)

The wind noise is not bad! you are are just fussy mares who expect rolls royce standards for a 10k car

there are many many rivals whose wind noise is worse than the ibiza

stop being girls and turn the music up!

I love standard FR suspension, try using the steering wheel to go around pot holes

I will argue to the death of me! I love these cars

Find me something that does 42mpg (excluding diesel because of the sucky 1st gear & boring drive)
0-60 in 6.4s, aux-in, traction, steering wheel audio, climate etc. and only 4 years old for 5k
with a bulletproof VAG engine

:-o are you saying the ibiza is a bad car!?

Actually, no. But for it to be the best car someone has owned, then I'd suggest they haven't owned many cars.

I'm not one to come on here and complain about ibizas. If I really didn't like it, I wouldn't still be driving it after more than 6 years and 160k miles.

I'm just realistic enough to know that they're not 'excellent' cars. They're a pretty reliable, middle of the road, supermini.

Ok you are crazy, you like the standard suspension on the FR!! The ride is way too hard for the handling it gives, it's like the shockers are not matched to the springs.

And as for the wind noise, my friend has a 2005 Yaris and it's much quieter at speed than my Ibiza and it has a 1.0l engine revving like hell at 70+ mph.

I would'nt say the diesel is boring (admitantly not as fun as a petrol), it offers me enough entertainment on my 26 mile trip to work with the punchy and torquey engine.

I do like this car, but i feel sometimes on here people get a bit snobby about VAG quality when in reality Seats are nowhere near as well put together as VWs, they just like to think their's is as good as a VW for the snobbery factor. Anyway, most manufacturers these days offer well built reliable cars, just take a look at vauxhall, they have come on leaps and bounds over recent years and the build of the interiors now are almost a rival for VW.

I know, i know lol, just jesting with you gary! Like all cars in this segment, there's always going to be areas where rivals are better, you just have to pick the one that suits you best.

must be very careful driving to acheive that kind of mpg. My 1.4 would'nt have got that mpg at 50 mph up the motorway.

*checks filing cabinet for repair bills on the Ibiza*
Nope nothing in there...just normal maintenance...
*checks filing cabinet for things he had to fix on his corsa he owned from brand new*
Loads in there...

Seat wins this round methinks!

I get 40 all the time, easily, just learn to plan way ahead, if you're gunna have to stop slow down and roll so you don't have to

obv if I floor a mapped petrol I can't expect anything over 30!

but still, suggest me another car than does these things ?
I actually cannot find anything

If I drive sensibly on the motorway I can get in the 40's, around town if I'm sensible and traffic flows I can get about 30mpg.

Not bad on at just under 240bhp I reckon :)
