steering is not as responsive
still has a seperate boot handle
uglier than ibiza (imo obv)
tartan seats aren't cool
no steering wheel controls
no climate control
steering wheel is nowhere near as nice as facelift
only 16" alloys lol

on + you do get heated door mirrors?

why would I care about sound insulation?
drive a VX220, lotus elise or a caterham and you will understand that it makes the car fun, rock hard suspension is cool
you also need to hear the engine so you know where you are revving, I never really need to check the dash, I know when I'm doing 30 for speed cameras...

The Sheeat Ibzia 1.2s is without doubt the worst car ever built. I've owned minis and marinas that were more reliable. after draining my pocket for 18 months the piece of crap is finally in it's death throws. Having paid over £500 to replace the sewing machine timing chain it's now decided to report low oil pressure when hot. the specialist garage has given up after changing the oil pump and everything else they could think of. I bought it at 30k with full stealer history and will be glad to see the back of it. Volkswagen engine! Crap. I'm tempted to pay some hooded youths to smash it up for a laugh. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF BUYING A SEAT, DONT!!!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY see the pain in these forums for proof.
The only good thing about the whole experience is that i now know a hell of a lot about Ibiza's

rant over goodbye. thank **** i'll never need these forums again.

Should've got a tdi cordy, mine's f****n great:p

At least there better built and suspension works correctly, which both invalidate the above said points. Lets reminise the above and i will explain why i hate mine:

still has a seperate boot handle
Which is better as mine keeps getting stuck and has been replaced twice (plus it sticks)

no steering wheel controls
Mine has them yes, but no good for aftermarket HU unless you buy £45 adapter

why would I care about sound insulation?

Because its 2011 and every car has some form of insulation except track cars... If you want to hear engine rev open window :p.

rock hard suspension is cool

yep just what you need in a 1.4 for motorway journeys :)

why didn't you buy a polo then if they're so much better ?

I can't comment in depth on suspension as I've never driven a polo GTi, but I love hard suspension, I can feel the road, every tiny imperfection & I can respond and drive accordlying, I find it exciting and engaging, something like a Jag that glides along the road - yes ok great for a chauffeur car as comfort is what you want - but when I'm driving I want something that makes me smile

you must have been unlucky with the boot handle, all 3 of mine have been fine :(

the adaptor for headunit is only £20, and plus that's your fault for wanting aftermarket anyway :p

it may be 2011, but the car was released in 2002 - let alone designed then, and all cars around that time - for this money & category - are the same if not worse, opening the window isn't practical when it rains, and that's a lot in UK, or snows, cold etc. a new polo GTi starts at over 18k, yet I paid £6750 for mine last year, you cannot compare a brand new car to something that was released in 2002, of course it's going to be improved

why did you buy a 1.4 if your main journey is motorways? >.<

If i knew that i would of gotton one obviously!

Not for kenwood there not, and the stock HU is a pile of wank too.

Never said main journey was motorways...

Think you will find the polo has all the same suspension issues as an Ibiza. Even GTI owners will upgrade to the Cupra wishbone bushes.

The Ibiza suspension just feels more stiffer than the Polos like it was purpulsy stiffened up.

If you hate it that much why are you converting the engine to a 1.8T? I know i asked this in your other thread but i still can't see the logic behind it. If you hate it that much, i would get rid.

With regard to the OP... it sounds to me like your "specialist garage" might be the problem. My old Octavia had £3k in parts and labour spent on it by the previous owner at a "VW specialist" in Spondon and it was still pouring oil out of the exhaust, clouds of white smoke everywhere and absolutely no power. I bought it, got it home, spent £400 on a new turbo and cat-back exhaust and it was spot on. Why the "specialist garage" went about changing fuel pumps, injectors and so on I've no idea, it's clear the car had turbo failure.

On the more recent topics, the Ibiza is far from the best car in the world, but in it's class of Polo/Fabia/Clio/Corsa/206/Fiesta etc I do believe they are the best.

Because i dont have a facking choice do i? Im locked in for at least 2 years before i can VT it with no penalty! I was actually thinking of crashing it in to the dealership cause the suspension on it is really ****ing me off!

Even my old Clio 1.2 felt more stable on a bumpy road :(. I miss my Ibiza mk2..

Silly me for wanting a nice modern newish car eh. If only i knew it would fall apart on me...

This thread reminds me of a saying.

Never argue with an idiot, because they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Seems to be working so far :D

Mines bob on...

Hated the suspension so I changed it
Turbo went wrong so I upgraded to a hybrid
Smic was rubbish so I fitted an fmic

Tbh I planned to do all this anyway so a kkk chocolate turbo going pop and a set of coilovers etc I can justify but the again id have never ever have bought a small petrol engined car hence I went Fr tdi. The 1.4 petrol 11 plate corsa hire car I had last week was shocking in comparison to my ibiza, wallowy noisey and the concept of having to change down to overtake was a bit novel!
