Can I just jump here and mention evaporation? The science behind this is really to mist the intercooler with water, not spray it...... The mist of water will evaporate, drawing (latent) heat from the intercooler in the process. A heavy spray of water isn't going to cool the intercooler down much. Misting nozzles would work better than spray nozzles............

I was just waiting for someone (thought it would be you too, Dave ;)) to come along and point this out.

I wanted to see how for it would go :)

I've just bought some fan spray jets, pipe, metal to make brackets and a non return valve to make myself one.

Might be a few weeks but I'll take plenty of pictures if anyones interested in having a go.

i thought with the with a layer of water on the intercooler the air would cool it down.
you are always colder when your wet right ? with boost running through a colder intercooler surly it would be cooler air ?
i have the fan jets also and will start fitting mine tomorrow

The point Dave is making is that it will be better with a fine mist of water instead of a stream. You can't achieve this with washer jets.

Heres mine, just got to get some shorter mounting bolts.

Quick video, fan needs adjusting on the right.....looks like a jet on video but its actually a nice fan spray :)

I wouldn't be able to tell you because the intercooler has not been fitted before...I just put the spray on to say some time when I come to fit it :)

Although someone with a vagcom may be able to log it on and off?

;) imagine the difference if the supply tank was full if ice as well ;)

as dave said though you will be better off all round with a mist but wind shear and colder water will help too

i did consider using the aircon system output one day to supply ice cold air but the power pros cons were minimal for the work and still need a condenser to chill the air anyway
