ok bought my self an Alpine CDA-9847R at trax yesterday. :)

been looking on the forum at how to install it... (i aint a moron lol just wanted to know do i need any special cables before i strip my car out)

first thing i notice is i need an aerial booster!!! what is one of these and where do i get one?

found this on my search. iso with built in aerial adaptor. this worth getting cos i already have iso block that comes with the stereo

VAG cars have an amplified Aerial mate but you generally dont need it if you only listen to FM with an after-market HU. Ive always used an after-market one and never had any problems with reception and mines an Alpine 9853R

through some bizarre fate i now have an aerial booster and adaptor :) mum was reading over my shoulder and went and got me one.. gotta love the old bean :)

it says it needs a 12v power fine i could cut it in somewhere... but the blue antenna wire on teh head unit is that 12v if so can i run it straight from that?

i am saying can i use cable 7 labled "POWER ANT"

the description of number 7 goes as follows

"power antenna lead (BLUE). connect this to the +B terminal of ur power antenna if applicable"

if i cant use this then can i not put it on the spare connector numbered 5 labled "IGNITION"

sorry for being a pain in the arse. never had this problem in the fiat
