Hi all,

After fixing the wet footwell issue (now frozen footwell) I now need to dry them out! I've lifted the carpet up at one corner and it's totally saturated! Has anyone come up with any inventive ways to dry the carpet out while it's still in the car??

when on drive heaters fullpelt to floor , can also buy dehumidifier pot things to take moisture out air

also what about sponges , magic chamois to absorbe the water , failing that stripp it out and take carpet out

Thanks for the reply all, already tried sponges and towels, only works to a point.

On one that I did while it was icey, I used a heat gun and a carpet cleaning machine (as a water vac). Got it completely dry. Got about 8 -10 litres of water out.

8 to 10 litres:wtf:?!?! Think im going to be borrowing my nans carpet vac this weekend! I can actually hear it swooshing around when a brake! Will post how much I get out!

8-10 litres to beat!

stick a fan heater inside to increase the interior temperature, particularly towards the wet carpets. add a dehumidifier which will suck any water vapour from the air. the mixture of the water vapour being removed from the air, hot air circulating will allow the water molecules to release into the air quicker than with no additional heat.
