Hi guys, firstly im new to this forum so really don't know how to go about using this. My name is nas and ive just bought myself a MK2 Leon fr tdi after parting with my mk1 fabia vrs. As im not too much of a petrolhead or dieselhead in my case lol im unsure if my leon is running smooth... On the day of purchase everything was fine it was able to easily eat up a 300+ mile drive but ive noticed when i start the car, on idle it seems to choke a bit as if it wants to clonk out... The previous owner was a genuine guy with all receipts and service history to prove the car had been well maintained. He mentioned the injectors were replaced a while ago with seats call back, my instincts are guiding me towards the injectors for some reason. To my knowledge the DPF hasn't been removed and there is no signs of any DPF failure, the car drives smooth through all gears, although i must admit im not too impressed with the power of the 170bhp engine? Maybe because i was use to my fabia vrs which was remapped to when 170bhp. Have you guys any idea on what this may be or are these cars meant to act in this manner?

Thanks

mine does that too and i heard another member here goes through the same. on cold engine it will start up fast. but on hot engine it struggles a little. i dnt reeally know what it is or maybe theyre all like that as this is my first car. Vag-com showed no errors.

im goign to keep an eye out on this thread too.

Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah I'm eager to find out what this is as its quite disheartening to hear it idle that way... It hasn't yet clonked out automatically when in this state but just the impression of it struggling a bit concerns me :/

i did a lil research and one suggestion says

"It could be a faulty starter motor. Unless it achvies a minumum of 280rpm it can cause the engine not to start. We commonly see this on cars that have needed a new dual mass flywheel due to it breaking up."

Nope it doesn't sound like that on idle... Il have to listen to it in a built up area so the sound of the car is amplified... The clutch seems fine it functions as it should so hope i don't need get stung from the £500 hit! BTW do you have a btcc kit on yours? I'm using a phone can't tell :(

You can calibrate the throttle control valve with VCDS. Also i think it should self calibrate if you disconnect the battery and wait 10 mins then reconnect.

You will then get a few error lights up on the dash but they will clear with a short drive around the block.

nah its just the cupra front bumper with the triple R composite splitter. should have the side skirts soon.

UPDATE!!
Ok so now that I've owned my Leon mk2 fr tdi for a month now I've been able to understand how it runs on a daily basis... I'm still getting that idle judder but when looking at the rev counter there's no sign of fluctuating revs, when standing outside the car you can hear faint knocking sounds but this is not constant, it kind of sounds like somethings loose but when actually driving the car it sounds smooth... Although the injectors have supposedly been changed, would it be possible if I were to take it back to seat to get these reviewed to see that all injectors are working fine? Another option is if someone in my local area (Birmingham) who knows their Leon's were to come and check if my cars healthy?

Please advise me on this guys, it's driving me crazy
