hi guys

ok i just got meself a nice little petrol r reg alhambra, nice n cheap but am having some problems with engine cutting out.

when cold it has irregular idle, leave it a bit and it levels off at about 8 - 900 which is fine. try moving it and when you take foot off the throttle it dies. when i get it rolling its fine as long as i keep the revs up when changing gear etc if i dont it dies.

any thoughts on this problem would be appreciated.

many thanks in advance

i have a throttle cabe, which is next on the list to change, since they are quite cheap.

Have you looked to see if the electrical connector block on the mass air flow meter is fixed tightly. Loose plug will give ECU faulty readings.

will check that today roverlander, what i have done though is adjusted the throttle cable right up with no increase of revs. however although this hasnt cured the problem it has made it intermitent.
