hey all i just wondered where the rev counter should sit when u r idling... mine is just under 1000 rpm this seems a little high????[B)]

the other day in my 110 tdi the revs jumped up to about 1100 rpm when i was idling. carried on driving and it was fine after that. it has done it twice now but not very often.

anyone know what that is about?

Hi,

My Leon Cupra did this 2 weeks ago. Start up = 1200 rpm, even after a half hour journey it was still hanging around the 1100 area. It has always been around 800 when warmed up.

After a lot of guess work, got the inner manifold vacuum pipe changed at a cost of £12 ! - worked a treat ! - revs back to 800 when warm.

Might not be related to your problem, but similar issues.

Best Regards,
Andy

Yep, my water gauge has been iffy for quite a few months now, sometimes reading 90, othertimes reading zero. Never goes above 90. But i just have this value showing on my Climate Control, so even though the needle doesn't read properly, i know there's nothing wrong and the water temp is okay. Doesn't overheat at all.

Regards,
Andy
