I've just realised that my IHI downpipe is missing a divider where it meets the turbo. I'm presuming it's purpose is to stop the flow from the wastegate and turbine effecting each other?

Bills got one,

Jabba kit has one,

But, my JBS item hasn't :(

So is this part important, and am I going to lose power/spool without one?

Thanks.

I dont have one mate.

Mine isn't mapped yet though, but so far so good.

Just give them a ring if your unsure.

Nice kit that.

I fitted JBS stage 2 IHI kit with equal length manifold to my mates golf a couple of weeks ago, one of the DP bolts is almost impossible to get in. Good luck.

its purpose (in scooby circles) is to reduce turbine turbulance from wastegate not blowing across the turbines outlet face...

Been looking at some after market downpipes intended for scooby applications. About 50% seem to have them.

I think I'll just get one welded in there for my piece of mind. Won't take long to add one.

Matt, yeah, I saw that sneaky bolt tucked underneath the turbo. My downpipe is in two parts, so I thought I'd bolt the top part to the turbo before fitting to the car. Looks like there might be space with the driveshaft and exhaust manifold out.
