i suppose it's like saying"why did you pick a scooby over an Evo?"Both are really good turbos for hitting a reliable 300-330bhp but which one is better

glad to hear mate , you must feel well chuffed , im pleased to hear that theres a little lag so i can run out side of the turbo zone and save some petrol. I'd keep checkin the mani and dp seeing ur on standard mounts tho , for piece of mind. And i will know wot you meen when youve got all that power and cant use it as when i get mine done im having a stage 2 clutch whitch will take 400 miles to run in ,this will kill me.Keep us posted when you get it mapped n rollin roaded.

As mentioned, its swings and roundabouts when choosing between the VF34 and GT28. I won't go into detail as its been much discussed. They both have their respective merits. I chose my setup as I saw the turbo for a good price, and liked the look of the JBS kit.
I'll be sure to post result when they are in.

I wasn't saying "why on earth would you choose a vf34 over a gt28", I was just interested in his decision route.
Like I said, seems as "easy" to fit as an eliminator but with a better hot side and TIP arrangement (vs k03 Elim).
I hand it to you mate.. 
I would love to do my install, it would save time and money and everything will be up to my standard that way.

i know you weren't! who said you were? there's not much difference in the 2 which was my original point.
Jay de, yeah, does save labour costs. I'm an ex mechanic, so I'm not phased but this stuff, but I have to say that its really not a difficult task. Fiddilly, yes, but just nuts and bolts at the end of the day.
I don't have issues without a cat as I have the AGU engine with it early single lambda probe ecu, so it doesn't check for cat efficiency, therefore no check engine light.
I'd deffo do it again, I enjoy working on cars anyway. Fitted an number of things to friends cars for spare cash.
Very nice clean setup caney. I'm quite jealous from an engineering point of view. It looks sooo much easier to get at things on a top mount setup. BTW, love the 4 clamps on the boost pipe. You really don't want that coming off do you. I like the heat sheild for the coil pack loom. I've got some heat fabric left over, might give it a go.

sorry to hijack but im not running a cat at mo to what is advantages of having and not having one
