Just had the beezer 10k serviced, spot on miles and year etc, only to note this morning that I have some kind of fluid leak.......

It's coming from underneath the car in line with the gear lever, from beneath a plastic cover ahead of a metal support strut. I've put a container under and it looks exactly like water, must have caught about a quarter of a cupful.

Only leaks when engines running - have had the aircon on a lot today as it's baking (v humid), presume it must be this as it ain't coolant.......anyone any ideas before I have to drive 50 miles to dealer??

:(

As you say it could be aircon. I had the same thing on my Mk3 and thought I had a leak but luckily it wasn't.

I'm sure someone that knows a bit more about Mk4s will be able to tell you if its coming from the right place, and if not then what else it might be.

Cheers
Ben

sounds like the air con condenser, keep your eyes on your levels and for any dodgy smells

:)

I think it actually mentions this in the seat handbook. high temp and high humidity may cause condensation to form on the evaporator which is then channeled outside and can cause pools of water to form under the car. I have never seen it happen on mine so I can't be using it enough

No leak!

Spoke to service dept at Stoneacre SEAT who confirmed t'was just condensate from v active aircon system (moisture that is drawn out of interior has to go somewhere).

Thanks to all replies ;)

Sorry for bring this thread up again

Moved my car in the work car park this morning and i noticed a load of water leaking underneath.

Searched and this thread sounds right for where the waters dripping out from but its not warm or humid so i'm a bit confussed. Could it still be the same problem??
