Hi i was just at the car for 10 minutes and i ground out the red/yellow wire and when i touch the wire to the chassic theres a click noise from the relay so i thought it would work but the car still cuts out after around 1 second!:cry::cry:

I now have the fuel pump running constantly when the ignition is turned and when car starts but the car is still cutting out  the immo obviously is cutting out more ... i.e. spark because even with fuel running its still cutting out so i think im just getting scrappies to come pick the car up unless theres something else i can do but i really doubt that

would it be the same colour wire for a 1.4

it was the red/yellow wire i ground... (1.4 1997 SXE) fuel pump runs but car still cuts out so the fuel is getting there so other thing is spark, so something else has to be done in order to get past immo, im getting to the point where the car isnt even worth the work or the money for another key

i might have a look at my haynes manual tommorow see if i can see which wire it is.

oh really... sorry mate i thought that would fix your problems :/
Mine runs a different engine and a standalone ECU, but thats how i defeated the immobiliser to run the new ECU... so presumed it would work the same for you...

EDIT: Also just looked at Haynes again and you are right with the red/yellow wire

Blue/yellow for monotronic
red/yellow for motronic

...apparently

im guessing the ECU is stopping the spark as part of the immo... but what if i ran a live feed to the distributor?

falkirk, scotland... probably about300 miles away from anybody on this forum :(

had a auto-electrician at the car on monday... he said he couldnt recode a new key for some weird reason... he had to take my immo away and replace something inside it, he came back out tonight and fitted everything and then turned around and said he was locked out or something like that so he said i need to get another box and try that ... any of this sound plausable?

plenty of info on here if you search about coding keys.
i thought you needed the 4 digit no. from Seat to do it properly but can clone 'em?
i asume you've only got the flip key & not a spare as well?

auto electrician says he cant get a new chip to sync with my immo, he said i should try get my hands on another immo and try recode a new chip to a new immo , does this sound right? im looking for an immobiliser for a 1997 (P reg) 1.4 sxe and tips on where to buy? (CCCHHHHEEEEAAAAAPPPP!!!!!!!!)
